I like to try all different kinds of line, from the cheapest to the most expensive.i have absolutely zero complaints about this line except maybe it's TOO thin!! I have caught several 30 plus inch snook since I've been using this line 10 lb test zero break offs zero complaints zero wind knots!!! Granted I do fish from the beach mostly not a lot of structure that's where I might question it but if you're not worried about structure this is your line for the money!!!! UPDATE!!!!, I've been purchasing the 10lb Blue and love it! However,I tried the 10lb gray and it was a totally different line!!! I also purchased 15lb Blue And it felt super rough like a 4 strand braid!! The 10lb gray was as thin as like 6lb braid!! The line kept breaking just tying it to a Monofilament leader!!! They were all over the board totally inconsistent!!!! The 10 pound blue I found was great but the other stuff was on a different school and everything I don't know if it came from another country or what hope this helps somebody
I changed my review on this product. Because I thought line wast holding enough weight but I was wrong. It was my rod eye led was cracked little bit which I didn’t it.
It was causing my line to cut off when I was pulling fish.
So all good I send the product back before I figured the issue with my rod.
I'm an avid fisherman so I got the Truscend fluorocarbon line to try out the difference in fluorocarbon performance. Overall, it is a quality line but not too spectacular compared to monofilament and its price point. The line came in a small clear plastic case. This is leader line material and comes in a very small size coil. The case is reusable but not great. The latch is molded with a very small protrusion so it does not lock in place well and needs a rubber band to hold it close.
The line itself is smooth and flexible, gliding between my fingers without gripping but also not too smooth to the point that knots don't hold. When tying knots, it holds up well. I was particularly interested in its "invisibility" factor. When comparing it with monofilament inside water however, both lines appear almost the same; Transparent and slightly visible outline, similar to the product picture in water. In terms of strength, it is probably rated accurately. When tying, it does not snap when exerting quite a bit of force. It held up to dragging a bunch of water weeds and freeing hook ups in weed. However, it finally snapped when I was pulling a loose, wrist thick, log which the lure snagged on. The interesting point was it snapped at the top loop knot. I use surgeons loops to tie the top loop and create a tandem drop shot rig for crappie. The loop is attached to a snap swivel tied to 15lb braid mainline. The line did not seem to have any abrasions but the slow and steady tension seemed to caused the line to bit into itself and weaken that point to somewhat below 10lbs. I figured my rod should snap first as I was using an ultralight telescopic with a flimsy tip, but the line did. Albeit, the log was pretty heavy despite floating and about 3ft long. It dragged it close enough that I could use a net to hook the log and take back my rig. Didnt catch any fish even with scented lures but it was still a bit cold for panfish in my area.
Overall, it is pretty pricy for leader line material in my opinion. Set your drag low if you use this.
I ordered this line not just for fishing, as I don't fish for anything so large as to require this kind of line, but to include in small survival kits for myself and for friends as an alternative to paracord.
You don't normally need 550lb cordage for simple things like setting up a shelter, repairs, etc, and this can be used as sewing thread for repairing equipment and will be much tougher than nylon thread.
I recommend the neutral grey line as shown in the picture. They do supply it in various colors, but they pigment doesn't really stick very well to the material, it is very resistant to adhesion, etc. The grey one is closest to the natural color of the fibers, so it won't rub off on your fingers too much.
It is, as promised 0.6mm in diameter and easy to cut with scissors or a knife, but very resistant to wear, abrasion, heat and cold. I could not get it to catch fire, and it scorches rather than melt.
I can't tell if it does meet the rated 110lbs maximum weight, but I can tell you I hung a loop and had my 120lb wife hang from it and it didn't give way. Granted, this is doubled, since it was a loop, but I don't doubt that it may even bear her weight on a single line. I could detect no stretch at all either.
Very good line for a good price, and a generous spool. It will serve you well in repairs around the house, in survival kits, etc. RECOMMENDED
I fish for shallow water rockfish here in SW Oregon as well as on an annual trip to Baja, Mexico. For 90% of the fish in both of these locations I find myself using 20 lb test (give or take, depending on location). The trade-off is capacity vs. strength. I ordered this Truscend monofilament line for several reasons. First, it is still near 20 lb. (17.8 lb.) so I don't give up a significant amount of strength. Second, the “camo” appearance is intriguing. In my experience, when we are casting and trolling in Baja over shallow reefs, green line tends to out-fish clear in an apples-to-apples (e.g. same lures, etc) comparison. I really think the subtle but natural shades (amber, brown tan, green) in this line are going to be an even bigger advantage than the green. I also like the added capacity I get for the occasional long running black skipjack, jack crevalle, and dorado. I reloaded my Diawa Legalis and I'm pretty sure I was able to get about 200 yards on that reel....very nice! The line looks fantastic and was super smooth during knotting and winding onto the reel. It was quite supple coming off the spool and laid down nice and tight on the reel (see pic). The price point is very reasonable ($11) for 547 yards of line. IMHO, Truscend has a bit of a leg up on the bargain import fishing tackle market. Their products just tend to be better than most. I'm giving it five stars for now and I hope to report back with a positive follow up edit after some actual use.
Casts like a dream. Smooth without wind knots. Very strong and durable. I fish around a lot of rocks and haven’t had any breakoffs unless I drag a lure along the bottom.
I pulled this bass that was a couple ounces shy of 10lb using a Silver Minnow out of some dense cover.
It never failed.

I had a reel sitting with this and decided to use it for carp, because I didn't really care if I broke off. After catching a bunch of big carp on this line and multiple trips, I'm raising it from 2 to 4 stars. There might have been some quality issues, but the line is actually very strong.
Edit: 5/21/23 I just went to spool up another reel with this braid and encountered two things that caused me to reduce the rating by 2 stars.
1. There was a rough patch with serious abrasions right off the spool. A spool of line is only as good as the line on it. It doesn't matter if 99.99% of it is free of abrasions. That one bad patch will make all the rest of it useless. I found this 40 yards into spooling, had to strip it all off, and start over. See picture of abrasions.
2. This line spool is the most worthless thing in the universe for spooling spinning reels. There is a rough manufactured ridge on the inside of the spool that the line catches on. I'm sure this is also nicking your line with every turn as well. I had to slowly manually unwind it. It took me 30 minutes to spool my spinning reel. The spool they used is probably something cheap and NOT designed for fishing line. The width of the spool is thinner than any other line spool I've used and the center is deep into the spool. When you lay it label-side-up to spool a spinning reel, it does NOT come off the spool and this gets worse the more line you use.
In short, the combination of a manufactured defect in the line deep into the spool, and the very bad design of the spool itself makes me NOT recommend this line.

I fish primarily with braid. This stuff is decent. I fished it for an evening and castability was good. I did notice that the line is a little softer and more supple than many braids even sticking to my rough skin while tying knots. I would not suspect that this braid is as "abrasion resistant" as claimed. I did not, however, put it to the test aside from pulling off a snag (which it did). I will update as needed after several more fishing trips if my opinion of this braid has changed over time and stands up to the abrasion of a rocky reservoir. A spool full of braid should stand up to heavy use on 20 fishing trips or more. Many people don't change a spool of braid for an entire year. That's my expectation with this stuff. We shall see.
